En fugl på Kapelvej

My friend Jacob sent me an email telling me that a poster of mine got into politiken. I like the picture and the reflection.

Growing Pains

I'm at such a strange point in my creative life right now, I feel like I'm struggling to define how I want my style to be. I feel content with what I produce but at the same time I want my pictures to show so much more, to be bigger and brighter and better. I find though that my style is limiting me, that the rules of how I do the lines and faces are restrictive. Yet all the new things I try and create don't feel complete. I guess it's called growing pains. I also feel that my work has not reached a level that is ready for the galleries, and perhaps I'm personally not ready for the galleries. The pure work ethic that one must go through to produce for a show is amazingly time consuming. Also the the small size of my works would not be able to fetch prices that galleries need in sales. I hope with time that I will evolve to a point where these things are not a problem, but it takes a mind shift on my part. This shift seems to be happening but I think time is needed, perhaps even years. I will need to grow, learn, and become more open to change. I hope I'm on some sort of right path.

Trailer Park Tuesday

Well today I was out at the Trailer Park Festival, Here you can see everyone getting there stuff ready. I'm postering some berlin bench's, and still have to do the tables and finally put some protective coating incase it rains. Other artist are doing there trailers, or painting the surrounding area. Good fun, relaxed environment and people have been friendly. I've been speaking both Danish and English to people, I feel a bit guilty when I speak English to Danes as I'm fluent in danish so there really isn't a point:) Anyways, enjoy!

Happy Rainbow Intergration

Had to do a image for a upcoming calender that deals with immigration in Denmark, my theme was "integration" . I did a blended painting design, which means I cut and pasted images from previous painting I have done, to create a new image. Other then that not to much news.

Well it's been a relaxing month to say the least, and a hot one too. For some reason I'm not as creative in the heat, perhaps it's a good thing I live in a northern European country. I did how ever do this fashion illustration for Dansk Daily that covers Copenhagen Fashion Week. You can go to the website and look at the online version if you can't find one on the streets. Often when I do design jobs, it's over email and so I don't always get to see my client in person, this means I usually just ask for basic design information, not know what the client looks like or what exactly the drawings are being used for til it's published. When the final file is sent the contact is broken until the next 'mission' is received. Feels a bit 'secret agent' .
